2. How We Use Your Information

We use your personal data for the following purposes:

• To create and manage your student account
• To deliver AI-generated MCQ exam sessions and display results
• To verify your identity and authenticate logins
• To enforce plan limits (exam session counts, validity periods)
• To process payments through PayU and activate your plan
• To send account-related communications (email verification, password reset)

• To analyse aggregate usage patterns and improve our platform

We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal data to third parties for marketing purposes.

3. Payment Data & Payment Gateways

Payments for Active and Pro plans are processed through PayU Payments Private Limited, a PCI-DSS compliant payment gateway. When you make a payment, you are redirected to PayU's secure payment page. ChapterTest.in does not collect, store, or process your credit/debit card numbers, CVV codes, UPI PINs, or net banking credentials.

PayU's privacy practices are governed by their own Privacy Policy available at payU.in. By making a payment you also agree to PayU's terms.

4. Data Storage & Security

Your data is stored on secured servers hosted within India. We implement industry-standard technical and organisational measures to protect your information against unauthorised access, disclosure, alteration, or destruction, including:

• Bcrypt password hashing — your plain-text password is never stored
• HTTPS encryption for all data in transit
• Access controls limiting data access to authorised personnel only
• Regular security reviews of our codebase and infrastructure

No method of internet transmission is 100% secure. While we take strong precautions, we cannot guarantee absolute security.

5. Data Retention

We retain your personal data for as long as your account is active. If you request account deletion, we will remove your personally identifiable information within 30 days, except where retention is required by law (e.g. financial records for 7 years under Indian tax law).

6. Cookies

ChapterTest.in uses essential session cookies to maintain your login state. We do not use third-party advertising cookies. You can disable cookies in your browser settings, but doing so will prevent you from logging in to your account.

7. Children's Privacy

Our platform is designed for school students. For users under 13 years of age, we require a parent or guardian's contact information at registration. We do not knowingly collect data from children without parental knowledge. If you believe a child has provided data without parental consent, please contact us at admin@chaptertest.in.
